Hip Release Series - IT Band

The first time i rolled my IT band (Iliotibial band - the ligament that runs down the outside of the thigh from the hip to the shin), I wept like a small child 😭. A tight IT band can cause hip pain and weakness, as well as knee pain. Using a massage ball is another way to effectively isolate and treat tension in your IT Band.

1️⃣ Put your ball on the floor and lie on it so that it’s above your knee on the outside of your thigh. 
2️⃣ Support yourself with your forearm.
3️⃣ Slowly roll up toward the hip, stopping when you feel tension.
